A Man A Wood And A Cheap Paintball Gun
I have never wanted to hurt anybody and I certainly never wanted to shoot someone so I found the idea of paintball a little strange. People go off to the woods at weekends and get shot at with paint balls by people they hardly know and it turned out two guys from my office do this most weekends. I never could understand why grown men would want to run around in the woods playing at being soldiers while they dodged paintballs flying through the air.
After weeks of being invited to join them I had a free weekend and so I thought why not go and see for myself, so I agreed to go and play paintball in the woods out of town. As we travelled out of town heading for the paintball camp site I was a bit nervous as I didn't know quite what to expect.
The following morning I was kitted out with protective clothing and told never to remove my face mask while on the paintball fighting area. Next I was shown how to operate a simple paintball gun and the we were off to my first paintball fight. I got hit by a pellet of pink paint almost as soon as I got there. I knew I had a lot to learn about all this paintball stuff and I hadn't even seen who it was that shot me.
The other people there turned out to be a great bunch and I just had such a good time. If I had a dollar for each time I got hit I would be rich but I also shot a few of the guys and I just had such a terrific time that weekend. You may wonder if it hurts when you get shot by a paint pellet and the answer is yes but the protective clothing protects you to some degree and it is all part of the fun of paintballing.
You might guess I am now a regular paintball player and most weekends you will find me out in the woods with my cheap paintball gun. Cheap paintball gear is good enough to start with and if you want to progress to more expensive gear you can do this over a period of time but cheap gear will do fine to get you started.
