Where can I find a home for WW1 Medals?
I have my grandfathers brothers British war medal, Victory medal, Medaille Militaire (boxed with a local newspaper snippet), War papers, photographs in Australian Imperial Force uniform, Death plaque and war grave photograph. Does anyone know of a museum in the Warwickshire area where he was born and raised that would be interested in displaying them. Before joining the AIF he was with the 21st Battalion so does anyone know of some sort of museum that I could share these items with instead of have them hidden away.
The Imperial War Museum may be able to help you find somewhere nearer to you, or offer to take them. Its very generous of you to share them with the nation.
