In your public library look for books on photography. Publications like Look, Life, National Geographic and Time have books on historical photographs. Many show pictures of how Americans lived during World War II. You can see how woman dressed, their hairstyles, household appliances, women working in factories, saying goodbye to their boyfriends and husbands going off to war, etc.
