Usually people are in the market for a wedding band when they have reached a point in their relationship where they feel they can imagine themselves waking up every morning next to the same person. Do your research; know what the 4 C’s (clarity, color, cut and carat weight) mean to the quality and price of your diamond wedding band.
•Carat weight – refers to the size of the diamond. The bigger a diamond gets the more rare it becomes and therefore also the more expensive.
•Color – Because diamonds range in color from colorless (the best) to yellow or brown there is a lettered grading system in place to help you understand what you are looking at because sometimes without the right equipment it is harder to tell.
•Clarity – this refers to how many inclusions or imperfections are in the diamond. A lot of diamonds have inclusions so small that you cannot see them without a jeweler’s tools.
•Cut – This refers to how the diamond is cut. This ranges in shapes from round to square. Look for a shape that compliments the setting you are going for.
These can vary greatly from diamond to diamond. Don’t fret if you can’t find something you like at the first store, the second store may have completely different stones. Try not to get too hung up on “perfect” diamonds. You can find diamond wedding bands that are absolutely beautiful in almost any range of the 4 C’s. Especially if you buy from a reputable jewelry shop.
