Sleigh bed- a great combination of class and luxury
A sleigh bed is a type of bed that has coiled or scrolled foot and headboards.The sleigh bed by its looks and model resembles a sledge or a sled and is thus is designated as a sledge bed. Usually, for making this style of beds, hefty wood is utilized which makes them very bulky in heaviness. The story of the sledge beds can be traced to the French and the Americans furniture that were fashioned as back as in the 1880s which was then also known as the Empire type. The size of the headboard can easily help in deciding on how much top the bed will have for the room. If the bed is a center piece, then it should have a relatively higher headboard. While, if the bed is secondary then a shorter headboard is usually suggested.
Under cases where the sledge beds are created from the metals, they are made according to the traditional type itself. Similar to the wooden beds, the power, heaviness and the appearance of the bed will completely depend on the kind and the quality of the bed used. Contemporary look could be given to sleigh bed by using both wood and iron.
