to Rance D, Aron, Kharitz TO reply..?
You should really look things up before you open your mouth there Aron, Elohim means God in the Hebrew (Gen 1:1) look it up in the hebrew. (Just so you know Adonai means “Lord”) Rance D if you do not think that Jesus is God in the flesh. Isaiah 7:14 “Immanuel” God with us, 1 Tim 3:16, Great is the mystery of Godliness for God Himself was manifest in the flesh. Rev 1:5-8 Alpha, Omega, The Almighty. Just to name a few. Also if He was not God why did He allow Himself to be worshiped. (Thomas bowed before Him and said, “My Lord and My God” Gospel of John). Kharitz I assume this answers you as well.. Good luck fellas. But if you are gonna do this shouldn’t you have at least a way to get in touch with you. You Chickens…
Just one question for you.. If Jesus (Acutally it was Yeshua short for Yahoshua, which translates into Joshua– it was changed to Jesus after several transliterations from the original texts) was God, then how did he “sit at the right hand of God” and how did God “breathe the spirit into him”?
Your argument does have SOME merit, however you forgot to quote the portions that can refute your claim that God is Jesus. You seem to not want to quote those portions.
Here are some for you to ponder:
“But this man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God” (Hebrews 10:12 KJV)
And:
“The Lord Jesus, after He had spoken to them, was taken up to heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God.” (Mark 16:19)
So it seems that God was already up in heaven, and “Jesus” went up to “sitteth on the right hand of God”.
And we can not forget:
“But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.” (Act 7:55-56 KJV)
So tell me, how does one sit at the right hand of someone whom he already is?
Next, Jesus says to his deciples:
“”‘Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high’” (Luke 24:49)
So why would he not say “I send you this promise” instead of specifically stating “the Promise of My Father”?
Those are examples that refute the claim that Jesus is God, all one in the same.
Let me ask you this too, while I am posting:
Is the Pope God? Of course not, he was a mere mortal, born and raised and studied God’s Word. He raised to the point where he was APPOINTED Pope (by the Bishops). But people still worship the Pope. Why is that? Because they feel he is the CLOSEST THING TO GOD.
Likewise:
“And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, ‘Truly you are the Son of God.’” (Matthew 14:32-33) To this day, many religious holy men are worshipped by people.
One more point I would like to make:
“Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.” (Exodus 20:4-6)
Graven is defined as:
adj 1: cut into a desired shape; “graven images”; “sculptured representations” (dictionary.com)
So God himself Commands us to “not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them”
Yet people have sculptured “Graven Images” of Jesus who is “in heaven above”. So everyone with a crucifix or sculpture of Jesus is breaking that Commandment, I guess.
Anyway, just some food for your thought. And sorry to the others for jumping in, but when it comes to the Bible, there are always refutations when things are misinterpreted and misrepresented.
