Lexmark S 1255 – The Able Small Office Printer
The Lexmark s 1255 has been discontinued recently. When it was first released, this model was very competitive in the market. There were over 20 models from a handful of brands that were in this same range upon initial offering. Released in 2000, the Lexmark s 1255 was priced around $275. The Lexmark s 1255 black and white laser printer is capable of printing about 17 pages per minute of monochromatic perfection. The standard paper tray holds 350 sheets, far more functional than others in the same class holding only 250 sheets. That is just the standard tray! There are also two other optional trays. One holds 250 sheets and another holds 100 sheets.
Allowing for multiple sizes and types of media, the Lexmark s 1255 can handle paper sizes A4 (8. 25 in x 11. 7 in), A5 (5. 83 in x 8. 25 in), B5 (6. 93 in x 9. 83 in), Legal (8. 5 in x 14 in), Executive (7. 25 in x 10. 5 in) and Letter A Size (8. 5 in x 11 in). You’ll also love the s 1255′s multi functional ability to easily print superior labels, envelopes and transparent.
With reliable ease, the s 1255 prints high quality mono chrome copies for every print job of your work day. Like the others, the Lexmark s 1255 works only with PCs and does not have MAC functionality, but the newer Lexmark models do. The s 1255 operates with IBM OS/2, MS DOS and MS Windows 2000, 98, 95, 3. 5 and earlier programs.
Compared to other competitor’s models, the Lexmark s 1255 is a big power saver. While fully operational, the s 1255 uses 315 watts of power and only 16 when in sleep or stand by. Shortly after its release, the US government began regulating power consumption of office machines. Now all printers require an energy saving seal of approval.
Start up time to first print was impressively advanced in its category. Expect your first page in fewer than 15 sec. Other similar models run a good 10-20 seconds behind.
