What did the Zouave Troops have to do with the civil war?
Any info you have is very much appreciated- thanks!
There were some groups (for example, a regiment from Louisiana) that were uniformed colorfully like the Zouave’s, North African troops in the French army under Emperor Napoleon III. But I think they were plain old Louisiana boys (and others from other states, in both armies) and fought in regular American style.
