I know the “Bush twins in the military” has been milked to death already. but…?
I have to bring it up again, because there’s a key issue that people usually don’t bring up (and in case anyone was wondering, I served in the US army).
Everytime someone says “Bush should send his daughters to Iraq” someone counters with “It’s an all volunteer military.”
That’s correct. It is an all volunteer military, and guess what?
During the Civil War, Abraham Lincoln’s son volunteered to serve.
During World War I, all four of Teddy Roosevelt’s sons volunteered to serve, one of whom was killed in action. In addition William Taft’s son dropped out of Yale to volunteer.
During World War II, all four of Franklin Roosevelt’s sons volunteered to serve.
So what logical excuse do the Bush twins have not to volunteer to serve in their father’s oh, so righteous and just and noble cause?
Hey, jev_82 maybe you haven’t noticed, but women serve in the military now.
