Complete Marvel Civil War TPB?
Can I read all of Marvel Civil War with the trade paper backs? I just picked up the Captain America TPB today (I’m just getting into comics) and am really enjoying it. I was hoping to read the whole anthology, do I have to hunt down all of the monthly issues?
Thanks a lot! I’ll probably pick up some back orders, most of the comic stores I go to have thousands of issues for $1. Where does Civil War start, with what characters, and what are all the series involved?
The problem with going through the TPB like you are is that you will not be reading them in order. You will be reading an entire character’s point of view from beginning of the Civil War through to the end. When really you should be reading for instance (not the correct comic numbers but you get the drift): Captain Am. #1 and Spider-man #1 and Hulk #1 then move to Cap Am. #2 and Spidey#2 and Hulk #2. Otherwise you are going to give yourself spoilers.
Honestly TPB is probably your best bet for reading the Civil War at this point, but you might try EBAY for a listing of all the Civil War issues – I’m sure someone is selling them as a set….and if they aren’t maybe I should do so hmmm……
Anyway, Civil War is pretty darn good. Though it so totally screws the Marvel Universe that they are probably gonna have to restart EVERY comic series since Civil War affected all of them.
Also I really recommend you read the Blade Civil War book co-starring Wolverine. It was totally excellent.
