So Father’s Day was invented by a woman, would women today do this for men?
From wiki:
Sonora Smart Dodd of Washington thought independently of the holiday (Father’s Day) one Sunday in 1909 while listening to a Mother’s Day sermon at the Central Methodist Episcopal Church at Spokane.[1] She wanted a celebration that honored fathers that were like her own father, William Smart. He was a Civil War veteran, his wife died after giving birth to their sixth child, and he had to take care all by himself of all six children.[2]
do you think women of today would do nice things like this because I was educated fro ma young age that men in the late 1800s were battering their wifes andm olesting their daughters? am I just being negative?
In the modern era of Feminism, women are discouraged from recognizing anything positive about men, so I am highly doubtful that such a holiday as Father’s Day would have been developed in the West.
