Help with things to do in Pittsburgh?

I know this has been asked before, but I wanted a fresh perspective on it. My girlfriend and I will be traveling for a few days at the end of August and out of the blue decided to check out Pittsburgh. I was watching Man vs. Food and decided I want to check out the Primanti brother’s sandwiches and definitely the Quaker Steak and Lube. Other than that I have interest in checking out the zoo, any civil war era sites and maybe the stadiums. What I’d really like is to have a native of Pittsburgh give their perspective. When I go somewhere, I don’t want to visit the cookie cutter tourist places, so I need help finding any off the radar places to check out. Also if anyone could tell me about the areas I mentioned above that would be appreciated. Lastly, I am a linguistics major and have heard about the unique lingustic styles of Pittsburgh residents and any information on checking out that sort of thing would also be appreciated. Any and all suggestions would be helpful.

The zoo and stadiums are good. I think there’s a Titanic museum, Carnegie Science Center, and a lot different tours too (buses, segway, boat are some I’ve seen)

Our “language”? Well, instead of saying ya’ll or all of you, we say yinz / yunz / yins. Instead of ‘and that’ we say n’at. Those are the main ones. Steelers, some people say Stillers. Slippy instead of slippery…Hoagie is a sandwhich, gumband is rubber band..
