Major Activities Played In The Olympics
As of last 2010 Olympic Games, there are a total of 32 sports played in by individual and team players. The 2010 Olympic Games listed a total of 80 participating nations who competes each other for a prize. The most popular sports played in the Olympic Games are the following.
Alpine Skiing
Alpine skiing is a great sport in the Alpine area and it started way back 1936. The Alpine skiing has a total of five main events. The events include the Super G, combined, giant slalom, slalom and downhill. In this sports, the skiers should slide down the snow-covered hill.
Artistic Gymnastics
The gymnast is required to perform their routines on different equipments. The gymnast is the term given to the person who does the stunts with the use of different apparatus. The gymnast often use high bars, vault, and parallel bars.
Badminton
The sport badminton can either be played in single or double player. Badminton sports make use of the racket, shuttlecock, and the net. The team who gets a total of 15 point win the game. Since there are two divisions of badminton which is the girls and mens division, each of them are governed with different rules.
Baseball
Before even the start of Americam Civil War, baseball game was already discovered. When it comes to baseball league, it is the National Association of Base all Players is the first group that was organized. When it comes to sports that most people love, baseball is one of them.
Basketball
It is one of the many team sports played by two teams in a court. Basketball is one of the most watched sports nowadays because of the emergence of many celebrities who became famous because of basketball. After the specified time, the team who got the most number of points wins the game.
Bowling
The game bowling make use of a bowling ball that is heavy compared to any other ball used in different games. The player of the game throws the bowling ball with style and precision in order to hit the bowling pins standing at the other end of the alley. It is one of the most preferred sport by some people because it helps those muscle groups that are not often exercised in other sport activities.
Football (Soccer)
Football or sometimes called soccer is one ot the favorite game in European countries. Unlike basketball which makes use of the hand in dribbling the ball, soccer makes use of the feet and legs by simply kicking the ball into the goal.
Taekwondo
Taekwondo sports and martial arts started in Korea. Taekwondo simply means the art of kicking and punching with the use of the hands and the feet. It simply means the art of kicking and punching.
Archery
This is an individual sport. The archer need to use different materials like protective equipments, arrows, target, the bow and the arrow shafts or cedar arrow shafts.
