is the civil war in Iraq mirroring the civil wars in Yugoslavia?

i think it is in the sense that both groups expierienced periods of ethnic cleansing, civil war, foreign support (or imperialism, however you see it), and in the end nothing significant or lasting has been accomplished.

It is somewhat similar, however in Iraq, it seems to be largely based on religion, with ethnic origin being secondary, while in Yugoslavia, the reasons were a reversal of the Iraq reasoning.
