Civil War Euphemisms

civil war euphemisms
What do Southerners means when they insist that the Civil War wasn’t about slavery, but states’ rights?

Do they mean states’ rights to allow its citizens to own another human-being as property?

Why can’t they just admit states’ rights are a euphemism for keeping blacks on the cotton fields?

You should not be able to wave the Confederate flag without being looked at like the racist, trailer-park trash you are. It simply shouldn’t be acceptable. It is akin to saying “I am a traitor, and if there were another confederacy, I would betray this country in a second”.
“you can buy your baby momma a cell-phone”

Thank you for proving my point exactly.

Not all southerners feel this way.
