how does civil war affect poverty in Africa?
civil war has been affected by lack of education, health and mal nutrition. but how does civil war in general affect the poverty in Africa now a days?
Its easy to grasp. You can’t have a well developed educational, health care, and agricultural system if you have a civil war raging across your country. When a nation goes to war it devotes a portion of its resources to fight the war, but in a civil war both sides are consuming the same nations resources and when this occurs in a poverty stricken nation it only results in increased suffering and poverty. On rare occasions throughout history civil wars have ironically strengthened nations, but that requires good leadership, a highly motivated population, and enough existing resources to conduct the war and improve the nation (ex: U.S. civil war). Africa is not know for these qualities.
As for how it “generally” affects poverty, it would have something to do with both sides ravaging the land and raiding towns.
