the civil war affected the rights of Southerners and Northerners. why? Well the slaves of southerners would escape sometimes and northerners would help. Later on Congress passed The Fugitive slave act whcih forced Norhterners to help catch runaway slaves. this helped understand the rights of southerners. but it wouldn’t stop there as abolitionists helped slaves immigrate to canada.
The civil war also killed many Americans and famalies especiall in the battle of Gettysburg, Shiloh and the awful Andersonville Prison whcih killed many union troops.
