If we did not get involved one side or the other would attack the oil ports and shut down the flow and the ports will just sit there. With the oil still flowing the two sides can just fight for awhile once we equaled out the civil war with 100 cruise missiles. Libya makes up 2% of the worlds oil, 7% to US and 20% to Europe. Now change the word oil to economy.
