Yes, some did, but particularly in the South there was a general lack of equipment/supplies, so their nurses would have been less likely to. To the guy above me…the Civil War was where women in America entered the nursing profession in large quantities, creating a precedent that is still adhered to here in America today.
Note: This does not extend to other countries.
