Does the color of the rind matter?
I’m growing butternut squash for the first time. My plants are hardy and I have quite a few squashes that are ready for picking. One of them has started to turn orange (like the “meat” inside) on one side. It’s the part that’s been on the ground during its growth. It’s still hard like the rest of the rind so will that matter or will I have to throw it out? It’s not a very big squash but it’s a good size for one person – ME!
It should be just fine. You see that on acorn squash as well. Enjoy it.
